Born and raised in the south west of France. Took up crew in College in 1980. French collegiate champion in 8+ in 1983 (University of Toulouse “Sup’Aero”). Rowed for the French National Collegiate team in 1983 in the Universiade in Milan (Italy).
Stopped rowing in 1984 to focus on professional career. Re-started in 2010 when moving to Charlotte. Found a group of likeminded adults who believe that aging is for the others, and only accept that we are constantly “growing up”.
Preferred regatta: Head of the Hooch.
Would love to do the Head of the Charles one day.
Preferred boat: 4x. Came to CYC as a “sweeper” but discovered the immense pleasure a well rowed 4x can give. Quite thrilling when the shell starts to “sing”.
Best reward from rowing: Good friends for life. The gain after the pain.
