Learn To Row


 

CYC Rowing typically offers one learn to row class each year.  This course is intended to be an introduction to the sport. Our goal is to enable you to row In a 4 or 8 person rowing shell using one or two oars ("sweep rowing" and "sculling").  You must be able to swim and perform the rowing motion without pain or injury. On an exception basis, should you need to do one or the other, please include that request (and the reason) in your response. The weekend schedule will be Thursday evening registration, safety and land instruction. Saturday and Sundays will be on the water. a spring 2024 class will be offered.  


Dates for 2024:

  • class size is 18 max. First come first served. students lead by licensed coaches and experienced rowers
  • Send an email to CYCRowing by March 22 to put your name on the list with the following information:
  • a) I would like to attend this class. (This needs to be a serious commitment; it takes a lot of volunteers to put this on!). You will receive additional information before the class in preparation. 
    b) I am not available this time, please keep me on the list for future classes.
    c) I am no longer interested.

Cost: $275, includes all instruction and equipment. Payment instructions to follow.

Prerequisites: You must be 18 years or older. 
You must be able to swim. 
You must be able to do the rowing motion without pain or injury.
