The weekend of June 21-23, 2024, the eastern United States was hit by a heat dome. Temperatures in Aiken, South Carolina were in the mid-nineties, under a sky that was often cloudless.
Despite the hot weather, US Rowing held its Southeast Regional Regatta and, over the course of two hot days, 24 CYC rowers rowed in 22 events and brought home 11 medals: 2 golds, 7 silver, and 2 bronze.
